After Catastrophic Fires, Great Smoky Mountains Wildlife Returns Home

forest fire

After devastating wildfires, the Great Smoky Mountains wildlife returns home. Animals such as turkeys and bears pick through the rubble of charred forest.

In the aftermath of the wildfires that ravaged the Great Smoky Mountains, animals returns to the ecosystems they once inhabited.

The picture below depicts a black bear that officers photographed. It was posted to The Chimney Tops 2 Fire Facebook page.

The wildlife will recover as healthy as, if not stronger than before. It does not come without it losses, though. More so than the wildlife many families lost loved ones and their livelyhoods. Our thoughts and prayers certainly go out to all those affected.
