Filmed at the Faroe Islands, this video documents what happens when a sperm whale explodes.
Often times whales get beached or stuck in narrow waterways, and this sperm whale met an unfortunate demise.
Watch as a marine biologist attempts to help the whale’s carcass in its decomposition process.
This whale was apparently stuck in the waters between two islands and eventually died.
It unfortunately explodes because of the build up of methane gas from the decomposition. It’s a common result when the whales are beached for long periods of time.
So if anyone asks you to cut open a whale that’s been decomposing, suit up and stand back.
