Most hunters know that South Dakota is the pheasant hunting capital of the world. This video illustrates why.
There’s nothing like having a big old rooster come cackling out of the cover ahead of you, and there’s no better place to experience that rush than South Dakota.

South Dakota is the best place to find wild pheasants. The combination of food and cover provided by the state’s agricultural and land management activities makes for a pheasant (and pheasant hunting) paradise.
The state’s pheasant season started on October 15 and runs through January 1, 2017. Night owls will like the fact that shooting doesn’t start until 10 a.m., and you have until sunset to fill your limit of three roosters.
Public land and walk-in areas abound, giving all hunters a chance to get in on the action. So what are you waiting for? Load up your shotgun, wake that lab that’s sleeping in the corner, and head for South Dakota!
