A deer collision with a motorcycle is a terrible thing.
Thousands of deer are killed every year on the highways and byways of the United States. Most of these deer collision accidents involve suvs, trucks, or cars and the drivers often times walk away more shook up than worse for the wear. Now, just imagine if one of those same deer collisions took place on a motorcycle. You are about to see it first hand.
In an incredible GoPro video that has been making the rounds lately, a man riding at 40 miles per hour on a Yamaha R6 motorcycle met a deer head on.
In a story about this video, Josh Irwin, of Bay City, Michigan broke down exactly how it all went down.
“Nothing really too bad happened. Just because I was wearing gear and what not, just a little fracture, I think,” he said. “The GoPro actually got ejected from my helmet.”
Instead of just being scared, Irwin had a different emotion going through his mind.
“Immediately after I was just mad honestly, just because you know, my bike and all that kind of stuff,” he said. “Glad to be all right. I know it could’ve been a lot worse.”
Incredibly, both the man and deer walked away.
