Georgia County Official Resigns After Killing Deer on Government Property

Landfills and hunting don’t usually go together, except for hunters disposing of deer carcasses.

However, a county official in Georgia recently decided to shoot a deer at a local landfill. Chris Floore with Macon-Bibb County says Assistant Landfill Manager Antonio White shot and killed a deer at the landfill earlier this month.

Unfortunately for White, there are several problems with his kill, according to Floore.

First, he wasn’t supposed to hunt on government property. Second, White was carrying his personal rifle in a government vehicle, a big no-no.

On top of that, he brought friends along with him, to the landfill. Another unpermitted activity. Floore says that White told county officials he was checking for alligators at the landfill.

White, understandably, has resigned.
