An ode to impressive bucks that were killed by EHD.
EHD, or Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease, is making the rounds again. Many states were finally recovering after a harsh bout with the disease in 2012; unfortunately, the disease is again taking a devastating toll on deer herds across the Midwest. And, for whatever reason, it appears to often target the same bucks that hunters are after.
I asked friends to send me photos of bucks that died of EHD, and my inbox overflowed with these amazing images. Here’s part one of my tribute to the bucks we lost to EHD.
