Frigid Temperatures on the East Coast Affecting Waterfowl [VIDEO]

The East Coast has been experiencing multiple weeks of freezing temperature this winter. The ducks in New York are feeling it too.

Many Western New Yorkers have found ducks, owls and other birds in their yards, either having fallen from frozen trees or literally falling out of the sky while airborne.

The freezing temperatures pose significant problems for birds and ducks that need water to survive and don’t migrate south for the winter. Since the lakes and other bodies of standing water are frozen they must travel to find water.

Many of the found animals are being treated for frostbite or injuries from falling from the sky.

If anyone finds any harmed birds in their yards or in the street they can reach out to any of these wildlife centers.
