How the Standard Arms Company Model M Slide Action Rifle Led to Today’s Rifles

The Standard Arms Company Model M Rifle is nothing like you have ever witnessed before.

This long forgotten rifle functioned as a pump action for surpassed reliability.

Ian from Forgotten Weapons checks out the interesting Standard Arms Company Model M Rifle.

The Standard Arms Company Model M Rifle was quite an interesting rifle. It was a pump action only rifle compared to the Standard Arms Company Model G Rifle that was pump action or semi-automatic.

The pump action only version did have less parts breakage and better operation that the other version. This made the pump action Model M a much better pick for outdoorsmen than the convertible Model G.

While these rifles were a major failure on the commercial market they were an interesting step to our modern sporting rifles of today.
