2015 marks the 20-year anniversary of the Walmart FLW Tour.
The season opens March 5-8 on Lake Toho, Florida with 154 pros and co-anglers hitting the water.
“The Walmart FLW Tour has been our flagship circuit now for two decades,” said Kathy Fennel, FLW’s president of operations. “We’re incredibly proud of not only how far we’ve come, but of the great things we have planned for the future.”
When the tour launched in 1996, the winner took home $18,500. Today, regular-season winners earn $125,000, and the winner of the Forest Wood Cup championship gets $500,000.
FLW has set the standards when it comes to television and Internet tour coverage and was the first to use wrapped trucks and boats in sponsorship packages.
To celebrate 20 years, FLW is launching a new website to enhance that coverage.
“The website, along with the industry’s best magazine and a television show that’s viewed across the world, will help more people than ever before to get to know some of FLW’s top pros and follow along with every event,” said Fennel.
