This photo of an alligator and python battling on a Florida golf course is insane.

Alligator vs. Python sounds like the title of a cheesy science fiction movie you’d seeing playing on late-night television, but apparently it actually happened the other day in Naples, Florida. And on a golf course, no less!

The Classics Country Club at Lely Resort posted a photo on their Facebook page on Nov. 5 of what appears to be a large alligator chowing down on python.

The post said the photo was taken by member Pat Aydelott while playing the course Fiddler’s Creek, near the resort, according to the post. There are no other photos or details on how the encounter started, or who won. Judging from the photo, it doesn’t look like things were going too well for this python.

Pythons are considered an invasive species in Florida and have been become more of a problem the last few years. News of massive ones being caught comes more frequently, especially in the Everglades.

The increased presence of the large snakes has actually prompted Florida Fish and Wildlife to encourage snake hunts. Now, it appears even the local wildlife is getting in on the efforts!
