Fishing Boat Fire Turns Deadly When Live Ammunition Aboard Explodes [VIDEO]

A fishing boat fire took an explosive turn when live ammunition stored on board began to go off.

A large sport fishing boat in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida caught fire, and if that wasn’t bad enough, the live ammo stored on the vessel by the captain was set off by the heat and flames.

Firefighters were forced to watch and wait as the fishing boat burned, having to take care because of the report of exploding ammunition aboard. An official can be heard on the video:

That is correct, we’ve got ammunition that is currently exploding.

While exploding ammo may not have much “range,” I’ve personally seen the result of what it can do up close. If you even think there is a hazard of shells, bullets, or some other kind of gun powder exploding, back off and call the fire department.
