An Australian man was reeling in a huge fish, only to find a saltwater crocodile attached to its tail.

Ben Stack, an angler in Queensland, hooked a blue threadfin. It took some strength to reel it in, leading Stack to believe the fish was stuck under a log.

As Stack pulled the fish closer, he came face to face with a huge saltwater crocodile that had latched on to the threadfin’s tail.

He let the croc have the fish but not before snapping a few photos.

You can imagine Stack’s surprise to be looking into the eyes of a hungry croc.

Stack still fishes regularly but is wary to the fact that Australian saltwater crocs may now recognize fishing boats as places for free meals.

I continue to fish. Things like this do happen in croc waters and I am simply spreading the awareness to be croc savvy.
