A charter boat skipper saves a juvenile humpback in this feel-good clip.
Aussie skipper Joe Brogan didn’t waste a second when he saw a young humpback whale in need of help while cruising the seas near Western Australia last week.
The juvenile whale was caught in a tangled cray pot line, so Brogan and the boat’s crew intervened.
The crew attached the snagged line to their boat, and 42-year-old Brogan dove in with a knife to cut the whale free.
Here is some footage of Brogan saving the whale.
Brogan’s father told 3News that his son was just acting on his instincts as a skipper.
“If he’d thought about it, he wouldn’t have done it. The whale was in the s***, so he jumped in and did it.” said Brogan’s father.
