The Children’s Interstitial and Diffuse Lung Disease Foundation (chILD) is hosting their annual fishing tournament on May 23 at Summit Lake, Nebraska. Fish for a cause this spring.
Young angler Michael Jarecki has a rare lung disease that prevents him from doing a lot of the activities kids his age do; except for fish. When he was diagnosed, Michael came up with the idea of a Fish-A-Thon, to help raise money for the chILD foundation. This year, for the first time, Michael will also be hosting a fishing tournament.
Michael suffers from Bronchiolitis Obliterans which prevents him from breathing normally. The disease has permanently damaged 80 percent of his lungs. But at 12 years old, he still finds time to be a kid on the water and fishing has become his passion.
The fishing tournament and 3rd annual Fish-A-Thon will take place on May 23 at Summit Lake near Tekamah, Nebraska.
All proceeds for the Fish-A-Thon and tournament will go to the chILD foundation to support children with rare, life-threatening pediatric interstitial lung diseases. You can also make a donation directly to the chILD Foundation.
Mark your calendars and fish for a cause this spring.
