A young deer trapped on thin ice in Alberta, Canada gave the local Crowsnest Pass Fire and Rescue team a chance to practice their skills.
After receiving a call from an Alberta Fish and Wildlife agent about a deer trapped on thin ice, the team sprung into action. They hiked almost a mile of shoreline to reach the animal before they were able to launch their inflatable rescue raft.
The rescuers reported the deer was exhausted by the time they got out to it. Watch as they complete their mission.
The team reported that after a few minutes, the deer got up and walked off into the woods, no doubt in search of precious calories to replace those expended in its struggle.
If deer could talk, they’d have some wildly conflicting stories about the nature of humankind.
