Sue Bowser didn’t believe her kids when they told her they found a baby dogfish shark in the backyard.
It’s not every day you find a shark in your garden. But that’s what happened earlier this month at the Bowser home in Virginia Beach.
Sue Bowser’s five-year-old grandson ran into the house one day and told her he found a shark. Sue was doubtful but when she followed him outside, there was a small shark in the yard. She thinks it was probably dropped by an osprey since it had puncture wounds in its side.
The 13-inch shark has been in the freezer for a couple weeks now, since the Virginia Beach Aquarium isn’t interested in a dead baby shark.
Sharky has become the talk of the neighborhood and Sue’s house is now even referred to as the Shark House.
“This could be the shark house, but hopefully not too many more will be falling from the sky,” said Bowser.
It is still undecided if Sharky will be buried in the garden or thrown out.
