Three Costa Rican anglers spotted the albino blue marlin while fishing off the coast of Los Suenos, Costa Rica. No word on when they found this magnificent fish.

According to Billfish Report, anglers Carlos Espinoza Jimenez, Roberto Salinas Hernandez and Capt. Juan Carlos Zamora were aboard the boat “The Spanish Fly” when they spotted the albino blue marlin. The albino blue marlin appears to be running with a line, but we don’t know anything else about what happened during the fishing trip. We do know these anglers captured some once-in-a-lifetime pictures. Billfish Report said they have spoken to a number of billfish experts who believe that these rare albino blue marlin pictures could be the first ever captured on camera.

Marlin are among the most prized saltwater game fish in the world.  They fight hard, swim fast and jump high once hooked, which makes them a thrilling catch for anglers. Their range extends throughout the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
