Ever See a Machine Gun with a Bent Barrel for Shooting Around Corners? Now You Have

There was a machine gun that shot around corners?

Indeed there was, all the way back in World War Two.

Watch Ian from Forgotten Weapons tell us all about the bent barrel STG-44 Machine Gun.

And you thought curving bullets to hit targets around corners only something that Hollywood could create? No, actually World War Two Nazi Germany came up with this.

The Krummlauf curved barrel is actually a clamp-on assembly that mounts to a Sturmgewehr STG 44 machine gun. There is an optical sight with a 30 degree mirror that allows the shooter to actually aim this contraption. This bent barrel device was very bulky and had a very short barrel life.

This is an interesting technological feat way back in the dark days of World War Two.
