Hungry Snake Wants This Toad for Lunch, But Can He Handle It? [VIDEO]

Watch as this overly ambitious snake bites off more than it can chew! I bet you’ll be rooting for the toad.

In nature, ‘eat or be eaten’ is the credo most animals live by.

Filmed in Michigan, the following clip nicely illustrates the daily struggles that are endured in order to survive.

In one corner, you have an eastern garter snake with one heck of a healthy appetite. In the other, a mild-mannered fowler’s toad showcasing a definite will to live. Who will come out on top?

Although the clip ends prematurely, I’d like to think the toad foiled the ambush by eventually escaping. It sure seemed like he would as the snake could only really fit one leg in his mouth.

This toad also displays some great survival skills, like staying calm until you figure out a game plan and executing it with vigor to ensure survival.

If not, there’s a good chance this snake suffered a belly ache that won’t soon be forgotten!
