What do you call a day of Florida fishing with giant jacks, tarpon, goliath groupers, bull sharks, and even a manta ray? Epic, that’s what.
BlacktipH host Josh Jorgensen charters with Captain Ben Chancey from “Chew On This” for a fantastic multispecies day of fishing off the Florida coast.
After fishing for bait, the guys spy a school of giant jack crevalles and immediately hook into three hog jacks. Jorgensen and Chancey hit on a double header with fish weighing 30 and 32 pounds, respectively.
Next they spot a school of tarpon and Jorgensen hooks, boats and releases a head-shaking 80-pounder.
After that the guys head out to find goliath grouper, but stop long enough to film a beautiful giant manta ray swimming leisurely.
They find their school of giant groupers, with bull sharks mixed in, and seem to tease the big predators with bait on a rope, not unlike playing tug of war with the family dog.
They finished the day with a try for snook, finding no success for the first time this day.
Beautiful seas and a lot of rod-bending action on different species. That certainly qualifies as an epic day of fishing.
