June 6-7 is Free Fun Weekend in Wisconsin where all park, forest, trails, and more is free to use.
Anyone in or planning a trip to Wisconsin this upcoming weekend will be sure to have a blast and it’s all for free thanks to the Free Fun Weekend event being held statewide.
During this time, all admission passes that are normally required for patrons to use state-operated areas are waived. This includes everything from state parks and forests to trails for bicyclist and ATVs.
The Free Fun Weekend eliminates the need for fishing licenses and stamps for the weekend as well. Anyone can fish anywhere, including inland waters and on Wisconsin’s side of the Great Lakes and Mississippi River.
Fishing clinics are being offered to those who want to learn at Governor Dodge, Harrington Beach, Hartman Creek, and Merrick State Parks. A basics to fly fishing program is also being offered at the Northern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
During this Fun Free Weekend, ATV and UTV owners do not need to have their registration passes displayed and nonresidents are free as well. All trails will be open and available for all to ride and enjoy.
Numerous other events are taking place to celebrate this great weekend including horse back wildlife studies, guided hikes, archery, a triathlon, and more.
