Elk Attacks Woman Who Gets Way Too Close in Yellowstone

elk

This elk lets a tourist know she’s gotten too close!

This woman finds out the hard way that Yellowstone has guidelines on safe distances from animals for a reason!

This footage was shot by wildlife guide Jody Tibbits near West Thumb. Watch as the guide attempts to give this woman a warning just a few seconds too late!

This woman seems like she was unhurt in the incident, but it just helps to underscore again Yellowstone’s rules on approaching the animals. This video surfaces online just a few weeks after the viral story of the bison calf some tourists put into their vehicle.

Obviously, the National Parks Service is probably getting a little frustrated by the dumb things tourists have done already this year. And the tourist season is just getting started!

Remember, Yellowstone isn’t a petting zoo. Be sure to give the animals a wide berth when you visit or this might happen to you too!
