A young elephant has survived brutal injuries caused by African poachers’ snare and spear.
Simotua, the elephant calf, suffered dramatic injuries from African poachers who caught her in a snare and attacked her with spear.
In June of this year, rescue crews responded to the report and found Simotua, flew her to a refuge and treated her injuries. She is now recovering well and is impossibly cute.
African poachers are responsible for killing an elephant every 15 minutes. Thankfully, this cute young calf did not add to the statistics.
The rescuers treated her injuries with green clay, a natural remedy from the area, and she is healing well.
