Did you know you could bake brownies over a campfire inside of orange peels?
Learning how to bake with a campfire is probably one of the hardest things for any camp cook to learn. While the task is made easier with reflective stoves it can still be difficult to keep a consistent temperature to correctly bake breads and other goodies.
Take away the difficulty and enjoy some brownies on your next trip with this easy camp baking method.
Brandi Milloy is known for her amazing cooking talents. She has been helping create and share numerous campfire and home recipes on various websites and television shows for years.
She hits one out of the ballpark once again with these awesome campfire brownies baked inside of orange peel shells.
To keep is super simple all you need is:
- Brownie mix
- Eggs, vegetable oil, and water
- One orange for each person
- Some heavy duty aluminum foil
- Mixing bowl and utensils
This method does appear to make the perfect looking brownies as, I too, am a sucker for brownies with a firm outside and gooey center.
I can’t wait for my next trip out to try this. It will be a great way to keep my kids entertained and introduce them to basic camp cooking.
They can mix everything up and pour them into the orange peel shell. I’ll drop them over the fire and then we can just enjoy some conversation while they bake before having a treat before hitting their sleeping bags.
