An innovative video duck calling contest kicks off in a few days.
Our contributor Preston Keck and his colleagues at DuckbillsnFlyReels.com have joined forces with Banded Brands to hold a duck calling competition they aptly dubbed “The 2014 Meat Duck Calling Online Championships.”
It’s not your typical contest–the entries will be user judged and all put on a level playing field. The interactive nature of the contest will be driven by random drawings for voters, as well as some great prizes for the chosen winners.
Entries can be made beginning June 27, and the top 16 chosen by a panel of judges will be pitted against each other for official voting, which begins July 14.
Anyone who wishes to share their duck calling expertise and enter the contest will need to be registered users of the DuckbillsnFlyReels.com site, and upload their videos to YouTube. They’ll be able to post their entries in the official forum thread, and highlight their best 90 seconds of calling they can drum up.
Hunting scenarios are crucial, so that means no ringing hail calls or rolling feed calls. Plus, the entries will be limited to mallard hen calls only.
Further details on the rules can be found here.
So what do you think? Do your duck calling skills stand a chance against a worldwide online contest?
There’s only one way to find out…
