You can only shake your head when you get a look at how badly this guy failed with a DIY attempt at barrel porting a revolver.
I’m not sure what possessed the owner of the revolver in these pictures to attempt barrel porting when they obviously lacked the skills or tools to do it properly. What I do know is that they ruined a perfectly good revolver.
I’m a little worried that the gun seems to be on display in a gun store. Was this revolver actually for sale at some point? Did someone pay money for this gun? There are just so many unanswered questions.
Just look at those uniform cuts! You can hardly even tell that this revolver didn’t leave the factory with those ports. I’m kidding, of course.
I mean, what did the person responsible for this use to accomplish this level of fail? A dull Dremel tool? A chainsaw in bad need of a new chain? Let’s just all hope that whoever did this didn’t make the mistake of test firing his newly modified revolver.
It just doesn’t get much worse than this in the world of DIY gun modifications gone wrong. Just leave this kind of work to the professionals. They actually know what they are doing.
Let’s limit ourselves to installing a new recoil pad and other simple gun repairs and modifications. The integrity of the barrel on any weapon is certainly something you never want to mess with.
These pictures are worth a good chuckle, but keep in mind that gun safety is always the most important thing. Hopefully the person who took these pictures made sure that this revolver was never sold or fired again.
