DIY Mobile Camper: Turn a Rusty Van Into a Comfy Home in 5 Months

Here’s how one man turned an old van into a DIY camper in five short months with some imagination and a little elbow grease.

The comforts of home. That's the bathroom on the other side of that door.

Mike Hudson not only converted a van into a home, but he published an e-book about it.

Using common materials from DIY and home specialty shops, he created a camper that is as comfortable as any out there. Hudson says, “You can easily forget you are in a 10-year-old van by the side of the road.”

After removing the rust, patching the holes, and putting in some five months of work the finished product was ready to travel.

This conversion van comes complete with 200W solar panels, LED lighting, toilet and shower with on-demand hot water system, kitchen, bed area, and much more!

Check out what the finished camper looks like in this amazing photo collection.
