Whitetail deer are some of the best swimmers out there and this just proves how good they are.
Many of us have been fortunate enough to see some whitetails swimming at some point in our lives. Those who have will attest to the fact that they do it for various reasons- whether they have been chased, because of flooding, and, well, because it seems a lot like they love it!
Enter someone lucky enough to witness it and take some nice video to share with us:
Now listen: I get the fact that this isn’t earth-shattering news to many outdoorsmen, but not everyone has seen whitetails in the water let alone more than one.
Thanks to the Port Bay Improvement Association Facebook page for sharing this great video for those who may not have gotten a look at how strong whitetails are in the water! I’ve been lucky enough to see deer swimming many times in my life and without knowing for sure I’d bet my vacation that they absolutely love it.
The last time I saw one was September 2015 when a beauty eight-point swam across a small Canadian Shield lake not 80-yards away from us, stopped to shake like a dog in two feet of water, and then disappeared into the tree line browsing on the ground.
When was the last time you saw a whitetail swimming?
