Wyoming conservation officers bust poacher who fired at deer decoy over the state line.
An Idaho man has received a $790 citation for shooting at a deer decoy robot that was set up by conservation officers right over the border in Wyoming.
Wyoming Game and Fish Department setup the highly realistic decoy on the first day of the Idaho deer hunting season. Department officials report the man stopped on a public roadway and fired across the state line and then fled the scene after law enforcement appeared.
The man has been cited for hunting deer without a license and shooting a firearm from a public road. The deer decoy has previously been used in Wyoming in 2013 and 2015 to catch poachers and regulation violators.
