Deer Attacks Fishermen, Then Decides It Wants To Be Their Friend [VIDEO]

A small doe deer attacks a group of fly-fishermen, and decides to follow them as they head home.

A group of fishermen were filming their recent fly fishing trip on the Clackamas River in Oregon when they captured an unusual encounter with a small doe. As the men were crossing the river to head home, a small doe charged them. After the deer attacks (we use that term loosely here), it quickly changes into a friendly creature. Wes Yancey, the fishermen who filmed the video, had this to say about the footage.

“The Deer was very strange in behavior as it charged several of us and then would not leave our side,” said Yancey on his YouTube page. “We tried to continue our walk after the surprise and the Deer would follow us the whole way.”

While the fishermen thought it was pretty entertaining, their dog Murray had other ideas. Throughout the video, Murray is barking at the doe trying to scare it away. But the doe ended up sticking with the crew for nearly five minutes. The ordeal was edited down to a six-minute video. Jump to the 2:00 mark if you’re crunched for time.

WARNING: There’s some strong language in the video.
