What happens when you are all out of shotgun slugs?
Well, in an emergency situation, a field-expedient version can be made in moments. Learn how to make your own cut shells for a survival situation.
Youtuber Eat All Birds has shared a video on Youtube that just might come in handy during a survival situation. It is how to make your own shotgun cut shells that act similar to shotgun slugs.
With a pocket knife and an almost complete cut around the wadding area, a cut shell is made. When this shell is fired, the full frontal portion of the shotgun shell hull, shot and wad become one fearsome projectile.
Making cut shells may also be very dangerous due to pressure spikes from forcing that whole chunk of shotshell down your barrel. We would only try this in a very dire survival situation.
