Couple Uses Tannerite in Awesome Baby Gender Reveal Photos: Will the Smoke Be Blue or Pink?

Here’s a unique way to reveal the gender of your upcoming baby birth: a colored tannerite target.

Meet Jamie Indiveri and her fiancé, Keith Batchelder. They’re expecting a baby and figured there ought to be a unique way to reveal the gender of the child for their friends, family, and themselves.

Since Keith is a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, he’s naturally comfortable around guns. When the time came to find out if they were having a boy or a girl, the couple turned to everyone’s favorite explosive substance, tannerite, to really make a bang with the announcement.

Batchelder took aim, with Indiveri by his side, to shoot the box containing some tannerite and colored chalk to create a plume of smoke, blue if it’s a boy and pink if it’s a girl. Only a friend of the couple’s and photographer Anna Elizabeth knew what the gender was before Batchelder hit the box on the first shot.

The couple told Buzzfeed they are “truly blessed and over the moon excited to meet [their] little man!”

“His friends and teammates in Special Forces, who are all highly trained in advanced marksmanship, would never had let him live it down if he missed!” Jamie said.
