A corn truck was the last thing this hunter figured would ruin his whitetail stalk hunt.
From all perspectives, this hunt looked to be in the bag. Standing a mere twenty-yards from a bedded ten-point buck, letting an arrow fly was all that was left to do. Then the unthinkable happened.
Nine times out of ten it is hunter error that puts a quick end to an otherwise successful stalk. In this case, it’s a corn truck with a bad case of the air brake blues.
Talk about utter disappointment.
You have to feel for this guy. He put in the time and effort to execute his plan only to have it all end so suddenly. But, that’s hunting, and if it was easy every time, things sure would get boring.
So next time you’re out on a stalk, keep your eyes peeled for corn trucks. And perhaps carry a “No Braking” sign with you.
