Cooling Off In the Summer is a Bear Necessity

When it’s a hot summer day and you stumble across a nice little watering hole, then cooling off is almost a bear necessity.

We often forget about all the animals in the wilderness when it gets to be the dog days of summer. But when the temperature rises on us, it’s the same or worse for them. The fact that they don’t have air conditioned houses to go to makes it rough. When they find a nice swimming hole, it’s basically a bear necessity to jump in and cool off.

This video comes from the National Park Service and the video was shot in one of the cool water streams along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sharing these great videos is just a small part of what the park service does to keep us in touch with nature.
