They say venison steaks are one of the ultimate red meat selections, they are healthy and taste great, and the right rub is the key.
- 1/2 tsp rosemary
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
Mix the rub with olive oil until you get a thick paste. Cut the venison steaks 3/4 inches think and lightly brush on the marinade before setting in the pan to cook.
Remember to have the pan very hot before searing the venison steaks. Cook for about two minutes on each side and set them aside to rest. This last step is crucial as it helps to keep the tasty juices inside the streak.
