All Men Are Like Sport Anglers, and This Comedian Knows Why

Comedian Patrice O’Neal explains that men are like sport anglers.

In an effort to explain to other women how men sometimes operate, comedian Patrice O’Neal explains that men are like sport anglers, often participating in “catch and release” dating.

As he says,

“Men like to fish. Sport fishing is different than catching fish for food. You get it, you catch it, and you know, you show your friends. Because you want them to know that you can catch fish. You take a couple pictures to show them the fish you have the ability to catch.”

This might not always be the case though. In fact, if you really want to find a keeper, check out Gabrielle Hoffman’s 3 Ways to Reel in a Fishing Partner for Life

If you just want to increase your chances in the online dating arena, take Dustin Prievo’s advice and put up a profile picture of yourself holding a fish. One particular study he reported on showed that 46 percent of women were more attracted to men who were holding a fish.

If you’re a catch and release purist, you could just keep letting them go, too. As fellow anglers, who are we to judge?
