One lucky fisherman hooked into a 14-pound lobster in Bermuda after hurricane Nicole.
A fishing charter caught the lobster using hook and line, and the video below shows the catch.
Luckily, it is a Caribbean lobster, so it doesn’t have the massive claws to go with its massive size.
I can only imagine the fight this thing put up. The lobster was released to return to the depths and was only blown into shore as a result of Hurricane Nicole that blew through the area.
To get to this size, the lobster must be almost ancient. A lobster grows by molting its skin once a year, growing larger each time.
Once a lobster reaches age seven, it stops molting every year and drops down to shedding every two or three years. In case you are curious, by my math, you would need about a pound and a half of butter if you did want to cook this beast.
