This United States Marine Corps Cobra attack helicopter fires an insanely long machine gun burst with its 20 mm cannon.
Talk about putting rounds on target! The pilots of this Cobra decided to lay down the hate on their target during this nighttime live fire training exercise.
How many rounds do you think are fired in this burst?
Warning: Strong language
The Bell AH-1 Super Cobra sports an M197, three-barreled, 20 mm Gatling gun. Similar to the minigun, the M197 has a rate of fire of 650 rounds per minute and is fired in 25-50 round bursts under normal conditions.
The Cobra is capable of really dishing out the pain on any unfortunate target. How hot do you think the barrels were after that insanely long machine gun burst?
Even though this type of shooting makes really cool videos, and it was probably fun at the time, it is obviously not good for the gun in the long term.
