Watch as two massive Alaskan grizzlies battle for mating season dominance.
During the Alaskan grizzly bear mating season, it’s survival of the fittest. From May to July the male bears, which can weigh up to 1,500 pounds, will duke it out for breeding rights. The epic battles sometime result in fatal injuries, but to the victor go the spoils.
The sow grizzlies choose to breed with the winners so that the stronger genes are passed down to the next generation.
Yeah, it’s no picnic being an Alaskan grizz.
Naturalist and filmmaker Brad Josephs captured this incredible footage of two huge adult male grizzlies fighting for breeding rights on the Alaskan Peninsula.
