Ron Spomer shows how to choose the best binoculars for your style of hunting.
Have a look as noted outdoorsman and naturalist Ron Spomer gives tips on how to pick the best set of binoculars for your outdoor needs.
As a hunter it took me a while to understand how important quality optics are in the field, and particularly binoculars.
When I first started out I had a cheap pair, but when I finally invested in a good set the difference was amazing. A good set of binos gives you clarity, detail, the ability to detect animals in the bush, judge their size and decide to take it or let it pass.
There you go, a lot depends on what kind of hunting you’re doing.
If you are an Eastern woodlands hunter like me, Ron recommends 8x power binoculars.
If you hunt more open ground, such as large swathes of the West, you may be better served with 10x power or stronger.
Remember, quality optics are worth the investment and you will notice the difference in the field.
