These Old School Russian Sputnik Shotgun Slugs Resemble Little Satellites

How will these Soviet era mystery slugs actually shoot?

Taofledermaus got a chance to try out these odd shaped Russian shotgun slugs.

Witness what these Sputnik shaped vintage shotgun slugs can actually do.

Direct from the former Soviet Union, these shotgun slugs are nothing like you have ever witnessed before. They resemble the satellite called “Sputnik” so that is where the name has been coined from.

Taofledermaus tried this mystery slug against a mannequin clad with a Kevlar vest. The soft lead slug mushroomed nicely and was stopped by the vest. A can of pickles was another fun target. A super sized gummy bear also became a victim of a Soviet shotgun slug.

These Sputnik shotgun slugs hit hard but fly not necessarily the straightest. That though is not too bad for the history these vintage slugs have endured over the years to reach Taofledermaus‘s gun range.
