Check out the Surplus Trout Pennsylvania Has Ready to Stock

Source

Pennsylvania is ready to stock a lot of trout in the month of May.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is delivering 400,000 more trout to 445 sites throughout the month.

The commission says it stocks about 3.2 million trout in more than 700 streams and 120 lakes each year.

The breakdown of that total includes 2 million rainbow trout, 642,000 brown trout and 522,000 brook trout.

On average, the fish ready to stock measure 11 inches. However, a new program, called Keystone Select Trout Waters, stocks bigger trout in eight locations across the state—one for each district of the commission.

The Keystone program trout measure 14 to 20 inches long.
