Salmon fishing isn’t just a spring and fall pastime in Oregon. Watch how they do it all summer long.
Fishing in the Columbia River Gorge is in no way limited to the so-called prime time of the fall run. The summer fishing that this beautiful and famed area offers is considered under fished, but area anglers with a secret have been boating salmon in June and July for a long time.

Summer fishing this amazing area will cause veteran anglers to remember a lost time before the Columbia River dams were built; a time when ‘June Hogs’ were the norm and not just a fantasy. Some salmon in those days were said to tip the scales at 100 pounds or more!
Big thanks to the ODFW for sharing another great video marking the way outdoorsmen share in the bounty that the Beaver State has to offer.
