In-cloud lightning is a spectacular phenomenon and when it’s in Florida, all the better.

Sometimes called ‘heat lightning’ and sometimes called ‘sheet lightning’ it can be confused with cloud-to-cloud lightning.

Intracloud lightning is actually the most common form and it’s just as dangerous as anything out there.

Here’s a good look at what you will see when it occurs.

In-cloud lightning happens inside one particular storm cloud. Cloud-to-cloud lightning is a comparatively rare form of electrical discharge that happens between two different convective clouds.
