Watch a Charging Elephant Wreak Havoc on an Indian Town

Fox News/Associated Press

You better move quickly when you wake up to the sound of a charging elephant coming down your street.

Residents in the east Indian town of Kolkata woke up to a natural disaster storming through their streets earlier this week. Contrary to most natural disasters, this one was being cause by a massive charging elephant mowing over homes and cars.

Watch as the local female elephant mows down nearly 100 houses as crowds of people watch in absolute shock and horror.

In the end, the charging elephant was tranquilized before any more destruction could be caused. Authorities believe that it could not find its way back to the jungle and coincidentally ventured into the local town, where it wreaked havoc on just about everything in its path.

This video is a great reminder of just how frightened wild animals can act when they’re not in their natural surroundings. Unfortunately, incidents like this are becoming more common each year as populations continue to rise and fast growing infrastructure shrinks the only natural land that’s left.

Ultimately, it’s only makes it a matter of time before another scenario like this takes place.
