Bulletproof vests are crucial for law enforcement and have also been featured in many action movies. I mean, Harry would be dead in Dumb and Dumber if it wasn’t for a bulletproof vest.
But have you ever wondered how many T-shirts it would take to make you bulletproof? 20, 40, 50, or even 100 shirts? Nobody knows. Well, nobody knew.
Demolition Ranch invested $75 in thrift store shirts to test it out with a 9mm and get us an answer.

After many added shirts and many rounds fired, we finally have an answer. What a fun and cool experiment with some interesting results.
The magic number is somewhere between 91 and 120 shirts. The bullet passed all the way through the shirts to the body at 91, but stopped on 120 shirts. So, to be safe, make sure you have 120 shirts.
On the other hand, you’re still out of luck if there’s a .50 cal involved.
