Summerville in South Carolina is set to be the latest location for one of Cabela’s newest stores.
Cabela’s, the “World’s Foremost Outfitter” of hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear, will be opening a third location in South Carolina.
The 82,000-square-foot store is to be built in Summerville off Interstate 26 and will begin construction this year. They plan to have the grand opening the fall of 2016.
“Cabela’s has been interested in the Summerville location and the greater Charleston area for some time now,” Tommy Millner, Cabela’s CEO told South Carolina’s Live 5 News. “We have a loyal customer base established in the region and an opportunity to reach thousands of additional outdoor enthusiasts who either call the area home or visit to shop and enjoy the outdoors.”
The store is to be built much like others, offering up an impressive amount of outdoor displays. It will have a log cabin appearance with impressive stone work, a mountain replica that displays various game animals, vintage outdoor photos and hand-painted murals to line the walls, and an aquarium to show off the species of the state.
They also plan to incorporate a gun library, boat shop, gear service centers, a small restaurant, and full archery range.
This store will help create 175 new jobs in the area for full, part, and seasonal positions. Other Cabela’s in South Carolina are located in Greenville, opened in 2014, and Form Mill, which opened earlier this year.
