Building a Deer Pond with Dr. Grant Woods

Dr. Grant Woods shows why a deer pond is essential for hunting success.

If you own a leaking deer pond or you just want to create one out of almost nothing, here’s a great way to get started.

Dr. Grant Woods is a leading proponent of deer management and conservation. His efforts have educated thousands if not hundreds of thousands of hunters all over the nation.

In this video, with the help of James Hennis, Dr. Woods shows how to revitalize a water source that can be a game changer during deer season.

The results are amazing. After cleaning out the pond and placing a layer of sealant, the pond begins to fill up in no time. The first layer literally pulls water up while the second layer seals.

Why is this important? Because during hunting season deer will be seeking water throughout the day, and if you don’t have water on your property, they’ll go to where it is.

This might be the difference in harvesting that big, mature buck you’ve seen on your trail camera during the summer.
