This DIY duck blind is cheap and effective.
Depending on your region, duck season is quickly approaching and it’s time to start thinking about blinds if you haven’t already. Hunting blinds are essential for increasing concealment and therefore success.
If building a permanent blind isn’t an option (you hunt on public land, perhaps), check out this easy and useful DIY duck blind that will cost less than $40.
Here’s everything you need for this project:
- Four to five half-inch PVC pipes cut into 5-foot sections
- Tan, brown, or camouflage spray paint
- Zip Ties
- Two or three hula skirts (easily purchased at a costume shop)
- Roll of 4′ x 12′ camo mesh or white blind material (from sporting goods store)
- Wood file
- Wire Cutters
- Scissors or knife
If you’re hunting on a windy day or just want some extra reinforcement, you can drive rebar stakes into the ground and place the PVC pipes over them.
Although this blind might not come with all of the conveniences of a pit blind, it will get the job done cheaply.
Now it’s time to start brushing up on your calling and get your dog ready for a great waterfowl season.
