Shedding their velvet is all a part of nature especially for a big bruising wallhanger buck.
It starts when they get their first set of horns, and doesn’t stop until the day they get harvested or, in some cases, die of old age.
Check out one of the reasons why we look for and find all those tree rubs when we’re scouting.
Deer ranches have their place in deer hunting. Some folks either want a chance to bag a trophy like they’ve never seen before, and maybe some just need a place to hunt.
Many ranches also harvest and sell whitetail velvet for use in medicinal purposes.
Either way, just watching this big buck in a state of “dripping” velvet has us ready to climb a tree and load up!
